Tiles come with low maintenance as they can be cleaned easily. However, there are tips and tricks that can help you achieve clean and shiny tiles quickly without a lot of effort. If tiles haven’t been cleaned in some time, they can become scruffy and the stains can be a little difficult to remove.

Tile cleaners will help you carry out the job more efficiently. But if you are trying out a product that you haven’t used before, it is best to test it on a small area in an inconspicuous space to see if there is any damage. This is a good habit to adopt whenever you buy a new tile cleaner. You don’t always need to use harsh cleaning agents if you carry out regular tile cleaning.

Staying on top of these maintenance tasks daily will reduce your workload overall and ensure that your home value is protected. You can also vacuum the tiles if there is no visible dirt that has to be removed with water and cleaner. Other items you can use are mops, floor brooms and of course, water. You always need to dry the floor with a clean cloth or dry mop without letting the surface air dry. This will leave water spots on the tile that is visible.

While it can get a little frustrating to clean the tile floor all the time, you have to be careful when it comes to stains. If you notice a stain, it has to be attended to right away unless you want that stain to permanently mark the floor. It can take a lot of time and effort, not to mention the money spent on harsh cleaners to get rid of stubborn stains. If a stain doesn’t go away, instead of trying to scratch at it or use strong chemicals, you can get the assistance of professional cleaners.

This will protect the tile floor as well. It is not just tiles that you have to clean. You need to give appropriate care to the grout lines as well. If the grout is dirty, the floor will still look unclean. There are grout cleaners that you can find on the market or you can mix baking soda and water to a paste for a quick DIY cleaning hack. You can clean the grout using a soft toothbrush.

You don’t always have to rely on store bought cleaners. There are things you can find in your household such as vinegar that can clean your tiles just as well. You can mix a cup of white vinegar in a bucket containing 4 liters of hot water. You can use a mop to spread this solution on the floor. It disinfects the floor and you will have shiny tiles in no time. However, you may not be able to use this vinegar solution if you have marble or natural stone tiles. Another household cleaning agent is baking soda. You can use equal parts of white vinegar and baking soda in warm water. You can add a bit of liquid dishwasher and some essential oils for a nice fragrance. If you are scrubbing the tile, you need to stick to a soft brush or sponge. Hard brushes can scratch or damage the tile.
